These are rough drafts of 4 routes in this level. There are actually a lot of ways to route this level. The first 2 routes are both known and only gets 2 remotes here. The new 3rd and 4th routes gets 3 remotes in this level in replace of Mystery TV’s “Beat the 3 Minigames” remote.

Mystery TV has 2 purple fly TVs off to the side of the “Break the 3 Blood Coolers, Again!” TV that you can get if lives become an issue with this run.

Here are the times for each routes. A 2:34 “Beat the 3 Minigames” remote segment have been timed with the 1st and 2nd route.

1st Route: 4:51
2nd Route: 4:38
3rd Route: 4:27
4th Route: 4:34

Now here are the times for the 1st and 3rd route if the runner fails the “Get the Three Stray Cats” TV cancel.

1st Route: 5:06
3rd Route: 4:42

I personally like the 3rd route because it saves a good amount of time over the 1st route and it doesn’t involve the mad bomber TV cancel. Here is an outline of these routes.

1st Route: Does the “Beat the 3 Minigames” remote in Mystery TV.
Attempts the “Get the Three Stray Cats” TV cancel.

2nd Route: Does the “Beat the 3 Minigames” remote in Mystery TV.
Attempts the “Defeat the Mad Bomber” TV cancel.

3rd Route: Does the “Find the 5 Escaped Convicts” remote in Superhero Show.
Attempts the “Get the Three Stray Cats” TV cancel and the “Find the 5 Escaped Convicts” TV cancel. Does Anime Channel later on in the run.

4th Route: Does the “Find the 5 Escaped Convicts” remote in Superhero Show.
Attempts the “Defeat the Mad Bomber” TV cancel and the “Find the 5 Escaped Convicts” TV cancel. Does Anime Channel later on in the run.

Now here are my current setups with the TV Cancels.

For the “Find the 5 Escaped Convicts” TV cancel setup, first I have 1 health point left and have a special power up fly buzzing around Gex. Then just before the TV cancel is about to happen, I swallow the fly for Gex to spit out to enemies off to a distance. I go on the corner of the green pad that is near the last convict and make Gex face in that direction. With the camera facing towards the gray wall, I zoom in of the camera and first move down and then left so that the convict won’t hit me early. Then I put my aimer to be vertically in the middle of the 2 windows that are on the right and finally I move up and hit the last convict.

For the “Defeat the Mad Bomber” TV cancel setup, I have Gex on his last hit point and have the camera closest to Gex. Then I have Gex stand in the middle on the edge of the TV. Align the middle of the paw prints of your health to the middle of the 4 fly coins that are on top of a building. As soon as I see a dynamite, I press forward and the jump button for a short period of time and make sure to get hit by the dynamite while in the air. Sort of hard to do compared to other TV cancels in this game.

For the “Get the Three Stray Cats” TV cancel setup, I spam the tail whipping button and go off the edge at an angle to avoid Gex licking another edge. If that happens then you have to do another tailwhip to go off the other edge. This isn’t actually a 1 frame trick if you go move right to the edge with enough momentum and then tailwhip again before Gex licks the edge but it is tough to do.
