This is the sequel to the original Ghosts 'n Goblins. Arthur is a lot stronger in this one; he's able to shoot directly up and down, which is already a massive upgrade. The chest system is also introduced in this game. You basically get rewarded for jumping in certain locations; a chest will appear with additional weapons, armor, and traps. This isn't completely random, and the better you perform and keep your armor, the sooner you're rewarded with golden armor, which allows you to use a very powerful magic attack unlimited times by charging it up. A bunch of new weapons are in this game too, including a melee sword with a fast attack swing. We played the Genesis version this time, which was a pretty decent port. I would say this is one of the easiest games in the series and a good starting point for players wanting to ease into it.
