Global Defense is that one Master System game with the strange control scheme and the strange gameplay system and the game that rewards you with a dancing Flicky and 20,000 bonus points for all your hard work. Yeah, it's cool like that.

You move a little space satellite and have to shoot waves of missiles and alien weapons that seek to destroy Earth. You move your satellite with one button held down and your crosshair when no buttons are pressed. Targets that get past you deal damage to the planet, but enemy fire or collision can destroy the satellite instantly (some objects don't collide with you). You can get power-ups to improve speed, power and repair the Earth. The game typically has two phases: An offensive and defensive phase, but if you've got mad crazy skills, you can avoid the defensive phases with a perfect offense. This video shows the offensive and defensive phase of the game. Enjoy.
