In this Shelfside Unboxing, Daniel unboxes the behemoth of a game that is Isaac Childres's Gloomhaven without spoiling the locked characters, campaign paths, and whatever else was hidden away in this coffin. Gloomhaven is a legacy-styled tabletop board game with Euro-styled card-based combat, that is currently the number one game on board game geek. Players are adventurers and mercenaries in the grim fantasy world that is Gloomhaven, trying to pursue their own objectives as they work together in a collective party.

We do get to see the beautiful game maps, decks of player combat cards, some of the items, and just the sheer scale of this game. This game is so big that it is actually 22 lbs (almost 10 kilos), and you can hear the satisfying thuds as it gets shifted around our table. We actually got this Second Edition copy off of eBay, so there was a little bit of a concern that we would get scammed and end up with an inadequate copy. Regardless, this big box board game came intact!

While we didn't open any of the character/mini boxes when filming this, we now know that players start off with access to the Brute, Scoundrel, Mindthief, Spellweaver, Tinkerer, and Cragheart classes. Our campaign is currently well under way, and we can't wait to share with y'all more Gloomhaven tabletop content in the future.
