63The Wil Wheaton Tabletop-Inspired (on Geek & Sundry) Shelfside Plays is back! This time let's play Everyone is John, a roleplaying game played with 6 sided dice, where everyone assumes a voice in John's head. John is basically the dungeon master, who is played by Daniel. This game was created by Micheal B Sullivan and was posted online in the depths of many a RPG forum a long long time ago. For this playthrough, the insane John is living in Austin, Texas.
Unlike Dungeons and Dragons where players are working together, in Everyone is John they are all trying to achieve their own obsessions, whether it be licking toes, cross-dressing, or going to the mall. After figuring out their goals, players will also establish skills they are good at, such as the classic of being a con artist, or something more flashy, like John Wick superpowers. To gain control of John, players bid their willpower points, which for the sake of this playthrough everyone gets 10 of and they don't replenish. Oh yeah, and John likes to fall asleep when he gets bored, so the voices have to be persistent in what they want him to do all the time.
What kind of hijinks will John get himself into? Join Paul, Rory, and Stephen as the voices inside John's head as they go and wreck havoc in their unfortunate, unsuspecting vicinity. Who's going to cause the most chaos? Will this title spoil what's going on? Will we ever make a Shelfside playthrough of a bigger board game?
There are more games being filmed and edited regularly! And apologies for the wack lighting and sound, we filmed at a different house and fudged the settings.
