Daniel got his 4th printing version of Root and Root: The Riverfolk expansion early! Root is a heavily asymmetric area control board game that features woodland critters, such as birds, cats, and more! It boasts a cute art style by Kyle Ferrin, and is designed by Cole Wehrle, featuring the mechanics of action queue, hand management, and most importantly, variable player powers.
The 4th Printing mostly changes some of the print on the player boards to balance the game and has some quality of life changes. Unfortunately, we were not able to get our hands on Root: The Underworld Expansion, which adds 2 new player powers, since that is only available through kickstarter as of February 2020. It should be hitting retail soon, but exact dates aren't known.
Regardless, we're super glad that we now own our own copy of Root to have on our tabletops! This is a board game that's generally pretty hard to come by except through kickstarter and pre-orders.
