I've got to say, that was definitely a productive first stream for Ghost of Sparta. Sure, I seemed to be totally alone on there... but I didn't let that damp my spirits too much. And as far as I can tell, I'm a little more than halfway through the game already. So, knocking GoS out in two sessions still seems totally viable.

I've got to say, Ghost of Sparta feels less like a portable spin-off compared to Chains of Olympus. Like, I wouldn't say it feels quite like a full-fledged mainline God of War game, but it gets a lot closer than its predecessor. Maybe it's because they got access to a higher budget, maybe it's because they had the experience of making the first game. Whatever it is, GoS feels a bit more epic. Maybe it's because the settings are more varied.

KI was also right about there being less puzzles than in the previous game, which definitely streamlines things. I do miss them a bit though. But there are still some clever moments. You know, like that bit in Herkalion, where you have to use a broken statue as a platform in order to open a door... then push the platform up to the higher area and use it to break the crumbling floor. That bit took me longer to figure out than I'm willing to admit, but denying the footage is impossible. It's a shame that we lost the ability to kick blocks though. That always sped things up.

KI also seemed to think that the game was more front-loaded with bosses, but so far, I've only fought two out of the five major fights that the game supposedly has... and like I said, I've made it more than halfway through already. Maybe some of those remaining sections are just way longer than they look? But honestly, at this point, even if I do need three sessions to put this down, that last one's bound to be extremely short.

Also, it seems like KI doesn't remember suggesting jumping straight into the Hallow-streams. Maybe I misremembered or misinterpreted what they said? Either way, I think I should have enough time to finish up one more game before we hit October. And since my last stream of the month will take place between October 30th and the 31st, I think starting later so I can do whatever I can to avoid running out of horror content by then may be for the best. After all, I don't think I'll really mind if I have to do clean-up on the first November stream. Makes me wonder if I should come up with a back-up horror-themed game, just in case I manage to finish the schedule early... even if what I've got in line makes that unlikely.

The Famicom version of Kid Dracula might be a good choice, even if I've already done its Game Boy sequel. But it might also be good to do some research on even more obscure fare, just in case...
