God of War III - water trap room skip (NG)
11Findlestick previously had a skip for the water trap room, but it required infinite health and was thus NG+ only. Here's a new variation that is quite simple to do, slightly faster and works on New Game (without upgrades or Whip) as well.
I start the video off with the old time save for the water trap room. It can be done using a RoS jump as well, so you don't need the Whip for it. A slightly slow timing is better, because if you get too much height with the RoS jump you almost never hit the ledge you want. But regardless, this trick somewhat inconsistent to do - and entirely optional.
After turning the room around, Glide to the climbing wall at the back and middle. Jump away from the wall and Glide over the climbing wall on the left side to find some floor there. Here, jump and do a Dash before hitting ground at a certain height to have Kratos latch onto the climbing wall underneath from the wrong side. And from there you can just continue on in the game as usual. As a bonus, the next cutscene looks more interesting than usual...
Next, some wasted potential. I found a wall breach that allowed the skipping of this puzzle before turning the room around. But this way Pandora does not follow Kratos to the next area and you get hopelessly stuck. So it seems you are forced to play until you turn the room around.
Next, a difficult few second save which might be worth it in a segmented run. Sometimes instead of doing the wall breach seen in the previous clip Kratos will latch onto the climbing wall as it retracts. This saves some climbing time.
Finally, activating the R1-prompt inside Pandora's cage too soon causes nothing to happen.
