Gomoku Narabe Renju Famicom / NES Playthrough asmr
1Released 8/27/1983 in the second batch of games for the Famicom (along with Mahjong), Renju is a variation of the connect-five game Gomoku.
Nintendo had been a game card and novelty company for nearly a century at this point in history. Their products appealed to all ages, and they were definitely marketing to an older crowd with these two traditional games for the Famicom. Sadly these games were never ported to the NES, probably due to their difficulty and unfamiliarity to Western audiences.
I am considering a playthrough to be draw or win on beginner difficulty. I played on an original NES with a Game Genie adapter (see Shorts) to allow for playing a Famicom cartridge. I am using a NES Advantage controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
