Pinball Famicom / NES CRT TV Playthrough asmr
Released 2/2/1984, Pinball for Famicom would advance Nintendo's strategy of providing familiar games to its early market. Much like Mario Bros., the styling of the title in-game provides hints at strategy. In Mario Bros. you must collect the money that is owed for your small business (don't let those coins get away!). In Pin Ball (as it is styled on the title screen), the basic strategy is to pin the ball with your flippers to give yourself more control.
Saturo Iwata, who was then a programmer at HAL Laboratory, developed this game for Nintendo, though he is uncredited. Mario and Pauline make a cameo in a bonus game, and the table theme is... gambling and animals!? This has to be an extremely veiled allusion to Dogs Playing Poker. The fact that Nintendo included Pinball for NES as a hidden game in Animal Crossing suggests that this is not only the first appearance of characters from that series (the penguins look like Friga! ), but also that Pinball could technically count as a tie-in game between Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., and Animal Crossing!
I am considering a playthrough to be 150,000 points on beginner difficulty. I played on an original NES using a NES Advantage controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
