Released 1/14/1984, Tennis would be the second sports game released for the Famicom. Tennis is popular in Japan, but not the second most popular sport. This game was likely released early due to the success of Pong and copycat products that had already created a market for tennis-type games. Though the gameplay is simple by today's standards, the realism and control of this game would have seemed mind-blowing to someone used to Pong.

I am considering a playthrough to be winning a trophy on beginner difficulty. I played on an original NES with a Game Genie adapter (see Shorts) to allow for playing a Famicom cartridge. I am using a NES Advantage controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
