We attempted to feature this game last year but due to technical problems we were not able to do so and had to drop it from the schedule. (The issue was we were using OBS' "Game Capture" mode instead of "Window Capture", which for some reason caused our stream PC's CPU to blow up.)
In order to establish harmony in the universe -- a universe that a certain Louisianian alligator wants to eat (seriously) -- we had to make things right and re-feature Gon' E-Choo in our 2020 marathon in working order. The game features characters and scenarios based off of the webcomic of the same name and plays identically to the arcade game Popeye. It's a fun little game with cutesy graphics...
...but there's more under the surface here. You're collecting pieces of a letter and with each loop of the game you'll uncover more and more of it. The letter ties into the comic; it is delivered to the alligator by way of a paper airplane and while he reads it we as readers of the comic do not get to see it. That's because it is in THIS game. 84 loops of Gon' E-Choo need to be completed in order to read the entire letter with the 85th loop featuring a kill screen (stage 256).
There's a lot to unpack with this game. It's kind of like an ARG almost. But as far as speedrunning goes, Draco completes one loop (three stages) of the game as quickly as possible.
