Gotta go fast*! Taking the Backpacker Rally challenge by @longdark4ever | The Long Dark
2We're taking a break from Interloper to try out the new challenge created by @longdark4ever , the Backpacker Rally tournament. It's a speedrun challenge in which you must acquire two 100 percent hacksaws, two heavy hammers, two stims, one 100 percent crafted bow, and 15 100 percent crafted arrows and take them to the goal (in Forsaken Airfield or at the Hermit's Hut in Milton basin, depending on whether you have the DLC).
Despite a slow start in Coastal Highway, this run is in better shape than our practice attempt. Fruitless wandering around the zone eventually turns up gold when Astrid finds a hammer and a hacksaw. She ends up leaving Coastal with the hammer, hacksaw, two stims, a maple sapling, and quality tools. The Ravine and Mystery Lake have been less generous so far, but all we need from Mystery Lake, Forlorn Muskeg, and/or Broken Railroad is one hammer, one hacksaw, two birch saplings, and about 20 crow feathers.
