It's time to try Interloper. Why? I have 500 hours in The Long Dark, I beat As the Dead Sleep comparatively smoothly, and my current Stalker run is at 250 days and counting. It's a big shout for someone who only started playing Stalker back in November, but it feels like I owe it to myself to take the step up and try the game at its hardest (base) difficulty.

At long last, the thing we planned to do 50-odd days ago has finally come to pass -- we make it to Coastal Highway. We start off by bidding Ash Canyon a fond farewell and making a quick R&R (rest and repair) stop in Timberwolf Mountain before returning to Pleasant Valley in search of more items from the Frontier Comforts update. With potatoes and carrots now in her pack, Astrid traverses the coal mine, enters Coastal Highway, and even finds some oats to further expand her new cooking repertoire. One thing that's becoming apparent is that the world is stupidly cold and will only get more so -- the air temperature is regularly dipping below -40 degrees Celsius (about -50 F).
