The Grand Canyon is a national park in Arizona that is world-famous for its deep crevices and high table-top plateaus. The default X-Plane scenery does not depict this famous geographical region in the detail it deserves.
This add-on brings ultra-realistic photographic (orthophotos) scenery to your copy of X-Plane. All of the scenery has been generated from satellite imagery that has been post-processed to bring the highest detail to the XP engine. Atmospheric artifacts such as clouds and haze have been removed.
This package has been labeled "HD" as it's more detailed than the other photoreal releases available. The scenery has been generated using zoom-level 18 which is higher than most of the other packages available. While this increases the file size slightly, it also brings higher detail to the region which is needed with such textured terrain.
The scenery is already compiled in a format X-Plane understands so there are no post-download conversion processes needed (they are quite lengthy and may take several days) - this has already been done for you. It's a matter of download, install, enjoy.
The Grand Canyon is best visited by helicopter so you can land in the valleys and enjoy the high altitude table-tops and cliff edges.
Areas covered in this package include Havasu Falls, South Rim, North Rim, East Canyon, West Canyon. The entire Grand Canyon is covered and all surrounding areas.
Some of the best airports to start your flights from to experience the scenery are: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (KPHX), Grand Canyon National Park Airport (KGCN), Valle Airport (40G), Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (KFLG), Kanab Municipal Airport (KKNB), Page Municipal Airport (KPGA), Sedona Airport (KSEZ).
