Recently, AMD CFO has denied allegations that they are prioritising cryptocurrency miners over gamers amongst the GPU stock shortage. According to the CFO, gaming graphics cards for PC hardware enthusiasts and gamers will be their priority as we move further into the RDNA 2 RX 6000 lifespan and sooner towards RDNA 3. While GPU stock availability and pricing is not as bad as it once was, the GPU market is still struggling under limited stock for both Nvidia RTX 30 and RDNA 2 RX 6000 graphics cards.
As both AMD and Nvidia have stated that the graphics card stock availability and MSRP pricing issues will persist for some time, AMD prioriting gamers with their GPUs over crypto miners is crucial.
AMD have also said that they "stand ready" to produce ARM based Ryzen CPUs, if they felt the collab would benefit the Zen processors and their battle against Intel. With AMD exploring chiplets, and 3D stacked dies for Ryzen 3D V Cache, an ARM based Ryzen CPU is not outside the realms of possibility.
There is sadly a new Ryzen security vulnerability similar to spectre and meltdown, which has the potential to expose sensitive data such as passwords. Thankfully, there is a mitigation already in place...
