There have been reports that the new PS5 model, which is lighter and has an updated cooling fan, is HOTTER than the original Playstation 5 model. But is the new PS5 model actually running hot compared to the original? We examine the reports that claim the new PS5 model has a higher temperature and puts out more heat. Heat is a major concern for consoles, next gen or otherwise, so claims that the new Playstation 5 revision runs HOT have been of much concern. It's not as simple as smaller fan and heatsink changes = worse temperature.
Several elements of the hardware specs of the machine, such as the APU / GPU, SSD and RAM, could be damaged or suffer a decreased lifespan if the next gen console is actually operating at a higher temperature. But is the new PS5 from Sony ACTUALLY hotter or not?
