Guide: This Solved Slow Transfer Speeds - * Eventually (Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 AIC NVMe SSD RAID 0)
Get ready for a Deep-Dive on the Gigabyte AORUS Gen 4 AIC NVMe Adapter.
The end goal is to help you set up your adapter with an ultra fast ~8TB RAID 0 NVMe SSD configuration.
Four Different Adapters have been tested with 4x 2TB NVMes to help identify which adapter is the best value in terms of RAID 0 Speeds and Thermal management.
The Adapter of interest for this video:
Gigabyte AORUS Gen 4 AIC NVMe adapter (PCIe 4.0)
The NVMes that will be used:
4x 2TB ADATA Legend 800 2TB (DRAM-Less)
The Benching tests done:
Blackmagic Design Disk Speed Test
ATTO Disk Bench Mark
Crystal Disk Mark
~80GB 4K Video File Transfer Time
~1GB of mixed software File Transfer Time
And the relevant parameters measured using HWiNFO DataLogging.
Data meticulously verified for accuracy by RACERRRZ, but if you see an error please post a comment!
The end result was a surprise because the performance wasn't what would be expected from this adapter in RAID 0 (speeds of over 15000MB/s has been seen on PCIe 4.0 systems)
Although the reason why remained a mystery in this video, I can confirm further testing netted higher RAID 0 speeds, but never with the ADATA Legend 800 2TB NVMes!
Conclusion - AORUS is a great adapter - just not with the ADATA Legend 800 2TB NVMes!

* NOTES: added in post *
1) All testing done on a HP Z840 Workstation - but slightly detuned trim from normal machine specs; some hardware was in-use in a related project video!
2) The AORUS adapter obtained higher speeds in RAID 0 for a different set of NVMes (4x Kingspec 256GB NVMes in RAID 0; max speed ~7800MB/s Read, ~5200MB/s Write), but it never managed more than 3500MB/s Read/Write with the Adata Legend 800 NVMes, it even gave a Window 10 Blue screen once!
3) End conclusion - the AORUS is great but not with the Adata Legend 800 NVMes, your mileage may vary!
