Guilty Gear. A series of fighting games dating back to the PSX. And a series that I've never played, for one reason. The instant-kill mechanic. I don't like it, I don't think it has a purpose in fighting games. And that mechanic alone made me avoid this game. But since I've been trying to play more fighting games, get practice with some, use my arcade stick, I decided to give this a try. And, honestly, if it weren't for that mechanic, I'm still not sure how much I'd like it. Sometimes the sprites are a bit too busy and I can't tell who's actually getting hit. It looks like I'm getting my moves of and rocking the opponent only to have them counter every single one and smack me around. Ug.

Potemkin - I actually do kinda like this character. I think he'd be pretty useless against players who'd just rush down and keep on the offense, keeping you defending with their speed that Potemkin can't get a hit between. But against the CPU? He doesn't need many hits, with how much raw damage he does. Get a good few hits in and you can rapidly turn the tables. That I liked.

Chipp: Seemed a bit like this game's Ryu style character. Instead of a fireball he rushes himself, but still has that uppercut. Ooof, it was hard to win with this one. Mostly the sub-boss, Testament, kept me busy for a long while. He could deal half my damage in a single combo, with moves that had a huge range to them. And he frequently countered my moves. It was a real battle, but once he was down, Justice fell fairly quickly. I dunno, I should like this character, but this seems like it's not the best game for him. I am a fan of rush down, but I like big hitters too, and I don't think he does quite enough damage overall. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
