Struggle bus city today. The real issue, for me, is that this game - even more than most fighting games - really does come down to attack speed. If you have it, you're generally going to win. You can simply disrupt whatever your opponent is trying to do. That's why Millia is obscenely strong in this. Kliff is about the same way. Potemkin is the exception, but he does such brutal damage with good range that he only needs a few solid hits to win, and that's fine. I actually really like his balance. The issue comes with all the middling characters, who don't do either very well. They aren't fast enough, and they aren't strong enough. This game seems like a minmaxer's dream.

May: This is the character that, by looks alone, I would have gravitated towards. I like it's a neat idea, the younger girl with an old-school ship's anchor as a weapon. But my god, she is TERRIBLE to play as. Her attacks all come out too slow, and her range is abysmal. Her Overdrive is so localized that pulling it off against even a dazed opponent can miss. She has one kinda neat attack in her direction shifting Blanka style attack, but it hangs in the air for a bit each direction change and the controls for it are kinda awful. It took almost an hour to just beat Testament with her, and I had to abuse Justice's weakness (low attacks) to win there.

Kliff: He's a lot more fun than I expected. He's got a strange attack with his scale ripper, the hundred-hand-slap style attack of his. It doesn't go far forward, but it does go far up. And in this game where so many characters try to come at you in the air, that's massive. It's another really fast attack as well, and when it connects you usually get several more hits in to do huge damage. Not as good as Millia, but fun to play. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
