It's a niche tactic that's for sure.
If you bash a scrake 3 times the hhe Melee Hit AI pause Affliction is buffered at the end of the Stumble. it gives a bit for than a second to either kill Scrake or cause another Affliction.
Gunslinger weapons can cause Gun Hit affliction in that time.
Ballistic Shock Sharpy can cause Stun affliction in that time.

He was Gunslinger and he bashed the scrake in the same manner and then blew it's face off, saving me in the process in game.
