.hack//G.U. Vol. 3: Redemption (via Last Recode) playthrough Part 13 Final
To the writers of this game: Fuck you. That's all I can say to you. That's the first time I've sworn like that in my description, but just... this game is the worst. The literal worst. I've gone on and on about how bad the gameplay is, but the story continued to get worse and more cliche the entire way to the end. But the ending, oh god, the ending.
Haseo - TWICE - tries to tell Ovan how much he loves him, but can't get the words out. Here's the problem with this: Ovan is not a good guy. Ovan is this game's main villain. Ovan is a selfish piece of crap who literally nearly doomed the real world (his actions caused such network disruptions that they never caused all nuclear power plants to melt down, an impossibility but whatever, anime plot), all so he could attempt to save one person with a terminal illness. Who, SPOILERS, he doesn't save. Nothing about this story did anything to her terminal illness, she's still going to die if she hasn't already. At best, at absolute best, he brought her consciousness into the game and merged it with an in game NPC AI of Aura, the goddess of The World, at which point it's not her consciousness anymore. So that doesn't "save" her either. Ovan was willing to risk the actual lives of millions of people for a selfish goal that he didn't even fulfill.
And the writers of this game think he's a hero.
I hate this game. I hate this game more than I've hated any other game. This is the absolute rock bottom that continued to dig it's own grave right to the end credits. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
