1Game Information: Half-Life 2: Episode Two is the second in a trilogy of new games created by Valve that extends the award-winning and best-selling Half-Life adventure.
As Dr. Gordon Freeman, you were last seen exiting City 17 with Alyx Vance as the Citadel erupted amidst a storm of unknown proportions.
In Episode Two, you must battle and race against Combine forces as you traverse the White Forest to deliver a crucial information packet stolen from the Citadel to an enclave of fellow resistance scientists.
Episode Two extends the award-winning Half-Life gameplay with unique weapons, vehicles, and newly-spawned creatures.
Chapter Information: Following the cinematic climax of Half Life 2: Episode One which saw the destruction of City 17 and the Citadel, Gordon reawakens on the ruined train he had previously used to escape City 17 with Alyx.
After navigating the ruined train, Gordon reunites with Alyx who hands Gordon the Gravity Gun once more. The duo then discover that they are in a large forested region under a large railway bridge that is ready to collapse.
Leaving the train wreckage behind, Gordon and Alyx look over the ruined vista off City 17 and the Citadel and discover a massive bright blue super portal over the ruins of the Citadel.
Getting closer to the super portal, it then causes a destructive portal storm that weakens the railway bridge causing it to collapse and crush the train wreckage underneath which Gordon and Alyx witness to their shock and disbelief.
After fighting through a Zombie-infested mine tunnel, Gordon and Alyx discover a communications outpost and restore power allowing Gordon and Alyx to communicate with Dr. Kliener, Eli, and Arne Magnusson who are currently located in the White Forest Resistance base.
After explaining recent events in City 17 and the true nature of the data packet Alyx is carrying, Gordon learns that at the White Forest base, a large rocket has been set up that will allow the Resistance to shut down the Combine super portal above City 17.
Moving through an abandoned mining complex, Gordon and Alyx are ambushed by a Hunter which critically injures Alyx and leaves Gordon trapped beneath debris.
Waking up minutes later, Gordon encounters a Vortigaunt who explains that he can heal Alyx Vance at a nearby Resistance base located within Victory Mine, a large mining complex infested with Antlions.
Accidentally getting separated from his new Vortigaunt ally, Gordon reacquires several of his iconic weapons including a new Crowbar, and ends up discovering Xenian environments for the first time since Black Mesa.
Exploring cavernous tunnels made by the Antlions, Gordon discovers Antlion Grubs that restore health and also fights off Antlion Workers which can fire corrosive acid at Gordon.
After fighting off more Antlions and Antlion Workers, Gordon arrives at the Resistance base located within Victory Mine.
