Half Life VR on Quest 2 with Lambda1VR mod! This is amazing!!
So, since I will not be getting any next gen console this year (thank you bots and scalpers) I have something even better - the Oculus Quest 2! The more I play it, the better it gets.
First, if you have a VR-capable PC already, you can play PC VR games wirelessly via SideQuest. SideQuest is an app you install on your computer that allows you to transfer games (legal ones only) and mods that are not available on the Quest store. You have to take a couple of steps and register yourself as a developer with Facebook (it's free and easy), then you have more control over your headset and can install non-Quest 2 games and mods....via SideQuest...full circle there.
The Half Life Lambda1VR game mode requires you own a full, legit copy of Half Life (the first one, and NOT Half Life Source) which you copy over to your headset. The Lambda1VR mod allows you to play the game in VR, but if you want it to be super easy, find the Lambda1VR Launcher in SideQuest and install it on your headset as well. I'm including a link to the reddit page that has all the steps and links for installing it.

As for the game, I'm kind of really excited for it. The video ends with me getting stuck trying to climb a ladder and an impatient scientist asking if I can hear him and why am I not climbing the ladder?!
I did install the HD pack - a whopping 1.2MB - which reminds me - Half Life is around 450MB soaking wet. I just deleted COD Modern Warfare off my pc and freed up 205 gigs...
Any hoo...I'll post more of this, it fun, I promise.
