Brought the old boi back for some test flights to see how he performs in 60 fps. The GameCube version's emulation apparently still has it's own little kinks to get worked out: the in-game cutscene/gameplay transitions tend to lag horribly for 1-3 seconds before stabilizing (it gets quite annoying as the game seems to almost crash every time the player opens a chest). This could be the reason for the mild audio stuttering that you happen to sometimes hear in the background (either that or the 60 fps hack is the cause of it). If that wouldn't be enough, some traces of the good old HUD glitching are also still present, though it was reduced to a barely noticeable area at the upper left corner of the screen instead of engulfing the action prompts of the opposite corner (possibly related to the widescreen hack?).
With that said as my latest fully livestreamed playthrough has demonstrated, the PS2 version runs pretty much perfectly even with additional widescreen hacking involved (with barely noticeable culling too compared to Dolphin's extremely ugly looking one that immediately deloads almost everything beyond the game's original 4:3 range). I don't know whether a 60 fps hack for the PS2 version even exists, but with everything considered imho leaving that one out of the experience is a small price to pay for perfect emulation.
