The NA version of Haunted Castle is harder than the JP original, can you believe it? You take twice as much damage! And even the original is ridiculously difficult! There's an option to play the game on Easy here, so I did that. That was the only realistic way to beat the game. Bosses can be cheesed by using the watch, though. While the watch doesn't usually work on bosses in Castlevania, in this game, no problem! Also, the sword is stronger than the whip? Blasphemy! The Japanese title is simply "Akumajou Dracula", which is exactly the same title the original NES game has!
