He Was Going to be a Copy of Optimus in Transformers 5. Copying & pasting different body parts is nothing new when it comes to Transformers. Especially when it comes to the Bayverse. We’ve seen so many characters share similar features with slight modifications to their heads and bodies. But we rarely ever saw secondary characters share similar features with characters such as Optimus and Bumblebee. However, there were plans to have a character that looked just like Optimus Prime. Which was Canopy. A rogue Autobot who was dedicated to concealing and shielding multiple humans beneath his not-insignificant bulk and additional concrete armor. While also camouflaging himself as a pile of rubble. And he shared a body type with the Decepticon, Longhaul. But early concepts showed a robot who could transform into a train. Which looked very monstrous and decrepit. But in another concept art he was going to look like Optimus. Where he would have a modified version of Optimus’ rusty evasion robot mode from Transformers Age of Extinction.
