Why Sentinel Prime Barely Used His Rust Cannon in TF3. I think we can all agree that we were completely caught off guard when Sentinel turned his blaster on Ironhide. Which caused the weapons specialists body to rust and fall to pieces. And we saw Sentinel use this rust cannon on Bumblebee only to miss him. And he shot at Optimus with it, but the Autobot leader was able to avoid his hits until Sentinel held Optimus at gun point. Making us think that this would be his main go-to weapon. Yet he barely uses it for the rest of the movie. And I strongly believe it’s because it got less powerful the more he used it. For example later in the film we see Sentinel use the blaster one last time against Bumblebee and Sideswipe with the scout avoiding the hits, but Sideswipe was caught in one blast but appeared to be able to resist getting hit just once. And its because the blast lost its potency. 1 key indicator of this is the fact that orange puffs of smoke came out of the rust cannon. Which was not visible during the time he first used it on Ironhide and Optimus Prime.
