In this beginners guide tutorial to Hell Divers 2 I explain how the game-play loop works in this amazing third person shooter.
The key points to understand with Hell Divers II is that you progress through the game by tackling missions on harder & harder difficulties, but to do this you need to upgrade and "level up" your character, weapons, stratagems and ship systems.
So when in missions, you should not only complete the objectives, side missions, quests and visit points of interest, but you should prioritize sample collection, because samples are how you increase the power of your stratagems, which is the key to be successful at the harder difficulty levels.
The other resources or currencies are important, but you'll be awarded these naturally by playing the game - but samples are easily missed and left behind.
