And here's one more Bug front with just a couple of team deaths, before we head back to the Bot front - once again, a really smooth run outside of a couple of mishaps, with the kind of teamwork that keeps me coming back every night!
This time I'm running the Autocannon + Cookout combo, one of the most ammo efficient in terms of the amount of damage you can put out in one resupply, and one of the most satisfying in terms of the amount of damage you can put out with each shot.
The Autocannon (and other AP4 weapons) is slated for some buffs to how they deal with Charger armour, and while it may sound almost OP given what it can already do with a quick matador, it's best to wait and see how it all feels. Let them cook...
Shout-out to the squad @originalSPECTER, @No1_diabolical_frog and@SpoonRacing20 for this run! If you're looking to join us or other like-minded players, check out Warrior's discord: / discord

Build:
The Autocannon (and perhaps the other AP4 weapons) is slated for some buffs in its interaction with Charger armour it seems, but it's actually already an amazing Swiss Army knife, with the damage to one- or two-shot mediums, the AOE to make it good against crowds too, the DPS to quickly 3-shot Chargers and Behemoths with shots to the ass, and the structure damage to take out Shrieker Nests and Spore Spewers from afar. Hopefully the upcoming changes just open up another option without trivialising both its existing Charger kill strats and the actual AT support weapons.
The Cookout complements its weaknesses perfectly, its pushback keeping enemies out of your face and back into the safe shooting range of the AC, and its spread and DoT taking care of light enemy swarms especially Shriekers with ease. Pushing a Brood Commander back with a Cookout shot and then finishing it off with an Autocannon is incredibly satisfying.
That same pushback also lets you protect the Autocannon Sentry from getting swarmed, so it can get to work as one of the best Anti-Heavy strats in the game (as well as crowd clearer). If you can protect it with your stuns and Cookout, it will lay waste to multiple heavies before running out of ammo. Particularly useful on swamp planets like Gacrux as it can provide some vital AT that's unhindered by the tree cover.
Orbital Precision Strike is my other AT strat for specific targets, its vertical trajectory meaning it is one of the more reliable AT strikes on Gacrux. On other planets, I might take the 500kg or Eagle Airstrike as well, but with Eagles so unreliable on these planets, I've gone for a 120mm Barrage instead, its low cooldown and high saturation making it perfect for throwing on Bug breaches.
For armour, I'm quite the fan of the Engineer Kit's bonuses (recoil reduction and extra nades), though the other big candidate is Peak Physique for faster AC aiming.
