With Neo having completed Higurashi When They Cry Rei, he now only has one portion of the Higurashi Sound Novels left to go: the story arcs contained within "Higurashi When They Cry - Hou+!
A brand new tragedy hits the village of Hinamizawa. This time around, a mysterious virus hits Hinamizawa and causes a mass panic within the population. Things VERY quickly deteriorate from there...
When the full horror of a widespread panic is unleashed, Neo & the club members find themselves in a fight for their lives. They ultimately come out on top, but not unscathed. Furthermore, the tragedy that befalls Hinamizawa is likely affecting other nearby areas as well, so even once Neo & the others manage to survive and regroup they realize that their current predicament is still far from over, and will be continued in one of Hou+'s other arcs, "Kamikashimashi"...
But before Neo gets to THAT arc though, he plans to make a "stop" on a DIFFERENT arc beforehand and learn of the origins of Higurashi When They Cry as its story was supposedly originally conceived. Make a quick "bus stop" back towards Hinamizawa before leaving it, if you will...
