Steins;Gate (Pt 2): Neo Begins Searching For Clues As To What Strange Phenomena is at Play
[BLIND LIVESTREAM]
Makise Kurisu's sudden and mysterious death is still fresh in Neo's mind, as well as the even more mysterious events that occurred before and after he discovered Kurisu's body -- namely, the appearance of the time machine and the relative lack of reaction most people had to the event, and the crashing of a satelite at the same building where the conference for the time machine was being held. And more mysteriously still, Neo later finds Kurisu alive and well, and that the memories of the people around him conflict with Neo's own recollection of events leading up to the conference. Neo learns some information regarding some of the potential time travel theories that might be at play here via Kurisu herself, and while he wished he had more information he's willing to at least take these theories into account and try to start working something out from there. Neo smells a conspiracy at play, and since it seems to involve the mechanics of time travel, Neo suspects that whatever this conspiracy IS will have dire consequences for the world at large depending on the outcome of whatever events are currently at play.
But without any solid information on what exactly is currently going on, Neo won't be able to solve the mystery he's being presented with, let alone be able to effectively deal with whatever the problem that's hidden within the mystery itself. So what else can he do at this point but put on his detective cap and start snooping around for any leads that can help him gradually piece things together? And snooping Neo indeed does, all the while dealing with the increasingly-apparent insanity that Rintaro keeps subjecting him (and his friends) to via his inner monologing and interactions with the people around him.
And let me tell ya, Rintaro is most certainly NO Takumi -- for better, or worse.
