Just like any other besties, BTS also play pranks on each other. Of course, these pranks are always harmless and are just for clean fun. Since BTS consider ARMY to be their friends, they also play tricks on them when they get the chance.
On April 1, 2022, Hobi took to Weverse to share with ARMY that he was flying to the US. Hobi can be seen wearing his typical airport must-haves: cozy outerwear, a hat, and a mask. BTS was set to perform for the 2022 Grammy Awards at the time, so Hobi flying to the US makes a lot of sense.
So why did this simple update turn the whole fandom upside down?
You see, Big Hit announced on March 24, 2022 that Hobi was diagnosed with COVID-19. He and Jungkook were the last two members who fell victim to the infectious disease. That said, ARMY were worried that Hobi was taking a long flight just a few days after his diagnosis.
COVID-19 patients are required to take full rest during the quarantine period and isolation for at least 10 days is also recommended. Hobi's post about going to the US was made just eight days after BH's announcement.
Understandably, ARMY were worried about him.
After realizing the commotion that he created, Hobi quickly came clean and admitted that it was just a prank.
