The player chooses to play as either Peter Pan or one of the Lost Boys: Ace, Pockets, Rufio, or Thudbutt.
Every character in the game has two different combo attacks that can be achieved by landing four regular hits in a row. Each character also possesses a super attack that can be performed by pressing the jump and attack buttons at the same time. When the super move is used a small amount of the characters health will be depleted.

The game is played across six stages. Gameplay starts at the left of the level and the goal is to reach the far right, defeating any enemies along the way. Each of the games levels have a different boss character at the end.

In this version, the colors are a little bit different (more saturated), the boss of the 3rd stage is different in the Japan version: in fact, there's a new boss named Mika, and she can summon her 2 sisters Anna and Gita, in the US and World versions, she is replaced by the Hook's clones. This version of the game loops after you kill the final boss.
