House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn (with Aimtrak) Full Playthrough
12So, the separate power supply for the recoil feature in my Aimtrak PC lightgun arrived in the post from the US on Sunday. I had a spare UK power cable that matched the 2 prong one supplied for the US power outlet (from an old camera I don't use anymore). As I am utterly clueless about how the whole US to UK voltage thing works, I took to the BYOAC forums for a bit of advice before purchase, just to make sure this power supply was safe to use over here. Plugged it in and everything works perfectly, recoil on the gun doing what it's supposed to and my house didn't explode, so bonus!
Decided to test it out with House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn and get some video footage at the same time. Unfortunately, I didn't actually angle my camera properly to get the screen AND the gun in shot. FFS...
I was initially just going to do some gameplay of the first level, but I ended up doing a full playthrough, so I thought I'd upload the video anyway even though you can't see the gun (you can hear the recoil function clacking away as I'm playing it though. the gun doesn't recoil constantly if you hold down the trigger, so you can only hear it as I'm pressing it.
Aside form a bit of slowdown when things get particularly busy, my 10+ year old PC seems to be doing a pretty job of running this.
