Cool flight simulator involving your control of a chopper flying over a city called New Seeburg, protecting it from enemy choppers. The controls aren't overly complicated like in another flight simulator, B-17 Bomber. Here, you use the dial to fly your chopper and the top action buttons are for firing at the enemies and the bottom action buttons fire your "water cannon"-- this puts out fires caused by the enemies, which burn on buildings, bridges, etc. Limiting damage on the city will keep your score from getting lower. You can accidentally (purposely?) inflict damage on the city by shooting it, and this is easy to do when trying to fire on an elusive enemy. A helpful radar screen (press 0) will show where you are, where enemies are (yellow squares), and where fires are (red blips). The screen scrolls about as you fly around the city, and note that you can't warp from one edge to the other. You can, however, fly while ON THE RADAR and this is useful for catching up to those enemies.. as you are right on top of them on the radar screen you can go back to the main screen and you should be able to see the enemy. Since you only have a little bit of the city that will show up on the screen at once it's easy to miss the enemy. On the radar screen you'll also note the fuel remaining. You have the opportunity to refuel twice in a mission; to do this you fly back to your base which is a small island extension at the top-center of the map. Land with the ENTER key and you'll refuel/resupply ammo. If you try to land a 3rd time without destroying all enemies you'll crash. Even one crash will end the game, and running out of fuel will make you crash as well! So keep your eye on the map constantly, and also USE THAT AIR BRAKE to stop (after letting go of the controls) immediately; otherwise you can easily fly out of control. Very tough but cool game for its time, with 3D-ish terrain below and cool cutscenes after you land. Stay safe, everyone!
