The topic of this episode of the Nirtheart Podcast is to discuss the size of the PokéDex in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, which are coming out later this year.

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokémon Let's Go Eevee showed that a main series Pokémon game with a small PokéDex works even in the 2020s. In some ways, having a smaller PokéDex is actually preferable! Completing the PokéDex to get the Shiny Charm can be quite a daunting task these days, and to know every single Pokémon in the PokéDex so that you know what to expect when battling competitively is also a huge endeavour.

The main point in this podcast episode is to highlight that even if Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl have a PokéDex at the size of Pokémon Platinum's PokéDex at 210 Pokémon, that it would still be possible for these games to be absolutely amazing. A smaller PokéDex could in fact be what could MAKE these games amazing! The reasons for this is what you will hear about in this episode....

MY STANCE ON CHEATING
The Nirtheart community is explicitly against cheating. Pokémon that are illegitimately obtained through the use of third-party software by you directly, or that you have received from someone else in a trade (i.e. the GTS) should all be released. Certain Pokémon like Galarian Articuno are shiny-locked, which means that they CANNOT be obtained by normal gameplay.
