A powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit eastern Turkey in the morning of February 6th, 2023. The quake occurred at a relatively shallow depth which means that the ground shaking associated with the epicenter area (or the area close to the fault rupture) was very intense. I hope that everyone is safe. My thoughts and prayers go to those in a dire situation...
