Lies are never easy to deal with and sometimes they are very difficult to spot.
Individuals who engage in pathological lies (repeated patterns of lying) with no clear conscience, clear intentions, or true benefit perplex most of us. They lie when the timing isn't right. They lie when it is clear they will hurt someone else. They lie because they can. They roll the dice every single time.
Pathological lies remain controversial in the field of "human behavior." We need more research on this behavior in order to properly identify and treat it. Because pathological liars often meet criteria for cluster b personality disorders (i.e., BPD, narcissistic personality, antisocial personality, histrionic personality), it is important we understand how to handle the behavior properly.
Sadly, victims of pathological lies end up feeling used, hurt, crushed, confused, angry, and sometimes even traumatized.
In today's video, I will briefly discuss ways to protect yourself from these unconscionable people.
