Despite the pandemic, 2021 turned out to be a record breaking year for Games Done Quick. Across their winter and summer speed running events they raised over $5.6 million dollars -- a new high for the decade-old video games charity event.

So how did GDQ have the best year of it's existence, during a pandemic, while hosting everything online? Today we're taking a look at the Year of GDQ: 2021, the challenges they overcame, and the amazing speed runs that happened from Super Mario to Kingdom Hearts to Sonic the Hedgehog.
