How to Get Spotify Music to Play in OBS as Audio Source (Easy Tutorial)
You can add Spotify music to OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) as an audio source using a few different methods. Here are three ways to achieve this:
Window Capture Method:
Open your Spotify app.
Start playing a song.
In OBS, add a new “Window Capture” source and name it something like “Spotify.”
Select “Spotify.exe” from the window dropdown options and click OK.
Crop the window capture to show only the song title and artist by holding Alt and dragging the edges.
Adjust the size and position of the window capture as needed.
Now your viewers will see the currently playing song on your stream! Keep your Spotify window open to ensure it updates when a new song starts1.
Media Source Method:
Open OBS and click the “+” symbol to add a new source from the Sources menu.
Select “Media Source.”
Check the “Local File” box and locate the downloaded Spotify music files.
Choose a specific song, click Open, and it will be played as an audio source.
Tuna Plugin Method (for more advanced users):
Download and install the Tuna plugin for OBS.
Configure the song info format and output path in OBS Tools - Tuna settings.
Connect to Spotify by logging in, copying the authentication code, and requesting the token in OBS.
Add a text source in OBS and select the text file containing the song info.
Adjust the font and position of the text on your stream
