How to Block Unknown Numbers & Callers on Android Phone (Best Method)
Method 1: Block Unknown Callers Using the Phone App (General Android)
This method works on most Android devices, including those using the Google Phone app (e.g., Google Pixel or other brands with the app installed).
Open the Phone App:
Launch the Phone app (phone receiver icon) from your home screen or app drawer.
Access Settings:
Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Select Settings - Blocked Numbers (or Block Numbers on some devices).
Enable Block Unknown Callers:
Toggle on Unknown or Block Calls from Unknown Numbers.
This blocks calls from private or unidentified numbers (e.g., “No Caller ID” or “Private Number”) but allows calls from numbers not in your contacts, as long as they display a caller ID.
Verify Settings:
Blocked callers won’t ring your phone and typically can’t leave voicemails if visual voicemail is enabled.
To unblock, return to Blocked Numbers and toggle off the Unknown option.
