In this video I show how to put together a 4TB SSD for an Atomos Ninja V. This particular setup uses the Lunchbox 3 by Andycine and the 4TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD.
Part of the video shows how to use the Lunchbox 3 to insert bare 2.5" SATA SSDs into the Ninja. While this is super convenient for someone like me who uses the Ninja on a table top in a controlled environment and not on a video camera outdoors in variable conditions. I wouldn't recommend this use for outdoor camera use.
The guide does show how to connect the Lunchbox 3 direct to the SSD and this is exactly what it was designed for. I personally find this method a bit more convenient than the plastic enclosure supplied by Atomos. Again though, my indoor use is a lot less taxing than shooting on camera outdoors and for that, I would recommend using the Andycine Lunchbox 1 or Lunchbox 2 as they completely enclose and protect the SSD.
