HBO Max is a great streaming alternative to services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and more. However, while the content is good, the service is a bit more expensive than its competitors. Whether you want to leave because you don't like the content, you just want to get out before your free trial ends or because it doesn't fit into your budget, cancelling the service is a relatively easy process. In this video I'll show you how to cancel your HBO Max subscription through either the HBOMax.com website, or the HBO Max app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Additionally, if your subscription is through either your Apple or Google Play accounts, I'll link to my videos below about how to cancel your HBO Max subscription through those platforms.
Now let's walk through the steps to cancel your HBO Max subscription.
Step 1. First, you need to access the My Account screen. On the HBOMax.com website you can do this by clicking your account name at the top of the screen, selecting "Billing Information" and then clicking "Manage Subscription." However, in the HBO Max app on iPhone, iPad and Android devices you can do this by tapping the "My Account" icon, tapping the "Settings" icon that appears on the next screen to open the Settings menu, then tapping "Billing Information" and finally "Manage Subscription."
The HBO Max My Account screen is displayed, showing what you pay for HBO Max each month, your next billing date, and your payment method. The following steps will be the same regardless of what platform you're accessing HBO Max on.
Step 2. Click "Cancel Subscription." The Cancel Subscription screen is displayed. Click "Yes, Cancel Subscription" on this screen. A message confirming that your subscription has been cancelled is displayed, along with a message letting you know the date you'll have access to HBO Max through.
