How to Change Your Phone Language on Android Phone (Best Method)
The best and most universal method to change the system language on any modern Android phone (Samsung, Google Pixel, Motorola, OnePlus, etc.) is through the System settings.
The key to changing the language is to add the desired language and then drag it to the top of the language list.
Step-by-Step Guide to Change System Language
This process changes the language for all menus, settings, and compatible apps on your phone.
Open Settings:
Tap the Settings app icon (⚙ ) on your Home screen or in the App drawer.
Tip: You can also swipe down from the top and tap the gear icon (⚙ ) in the Quick Settings panel.
Navigate to System Settings:
Scroll down to the very bottom and tap System. (On Samsung Galaxy devices, this option is usually General management.)
Find the Language Options:
Tap Languages & input (or just Languages).
Tap Languages (usually the first option).
Add Your Desired Language:
Tap + Add a language.
Scroll through the list and select the language you want to use.
If prompted, choose a specific region/dialect (e.g., "Spanish (United States)" vs. "Spanish (Spain)").
Set as Default Language:
On the final list of languages, you will see a small icon next to each language (often four horizontal lines or a set of dots).
Press and hold the icon next to the new language you just added.
Drag the new language to the very top (position 1) of the list.
Your phone's system language will change immediately. The language at the top of the list is always the active default language.
