To check the bandwidth usage on your Xbox Series X, you can follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Navigate to Profile & system - Settings - Network - Bandwidth usage.
Here, you can view the data usage of your Xbox Series X, split hourly for the last day, along with a monthly usage breakdown.

If you want to restrict your downloads to just the games you’re going to play soon, you can clear the checkbox labeled Keep my games & apps up to date in the Updates section of the System tab. This will notify you of available updates only when you launch a game or app, and you can choose whether to update now or wait for later.
