12To check for updates on your Xbox Series X|S, you can follow these steps:
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Select Profile & system - Settings - System - Updates.
Under Updates, you’ll see two options:
Keep my console up to date to update your console automatically.
Keep my games & apps up to date to update games and apps automatically.
By default, your console is set to receive updates automatically. In this mode, your console checks for updates each night and downloads and installs them when the console isn’t being used. This reduces the impact updates have on your Xbox experience, and they won’t block you from connecting to the Xbox network unless they become mandatory.
You can also manually check for updates by following these steps:

Console update available to begin your update.
No console update available if your console is up to date.
