How to Connect Xbox Controller to Android Phone with WIRE
To connect an Xbox controller to an Android phone using a wired connection:
Get the Right Cable:
Use a USB-C to USB-C cable if your phone has a USB-C port (common on modern Android phones) or a USB-C to USB-A cable with an OTG adapter for other ports.
Ensure the cable supports data transfer, not just charging.
Connect the Controller:
Plug the USB-C end into your Android phone’s USB-C port (or OTG adapter if needed).
Plug the other end (USB-C or USB-A, depending on your controller model) into the Xbox controller’s port (on top, near the Xbox button).
Grant Permissions:
Your phone may prompt you to allow USB access or confirm the device. Tap Allow or OK.
The controller should be automatically detected as an input device.
Test the Connection:
Open a controller-compatible app or game (e.g., Xbox Game Pass, Call of Duty Mobile, or emulators).
Verify that buttons, joysticks, and triggers work. The Xbox button’s light may indicate a connection.
Adjust Settings (if Needed):
Check the game’s settings to enable controller support if it’s not responding.
Go to Settings - Connected devices or Accessibility to confirm gamepad input is enabled.
