Note that the DualShock 4 is only compatible with backward-compatible PS4 games on the PS5 and cannot be used for PS5-exclusive games due to the advanced features of the PS5 DualSense controller, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Method 1: Wired Connection (USB)
Turn on your PS5: Ensure your PS5 console is powered on.
Connect the controller:
Plug the DualShock 4 controller into the PS5 using a micro-USB cable (the one included with the PS4 controller or a compatible cable).
Press the PS button:
Press the PS button in the center of the controller. The light bar will blink, and the player indicator will light up, indicating the controller is paired.
Assign a user:
If prompted, select or create a user profile to associate with the controller via Settings - Users and Accounts - Users.
