This video will show you how to crop a video using the free program VLC Media Player. This can be used to remove a portion of the screen or change the resolution. Cropping the video will require you to know roughly how many pixels from each side you want to crop.

To crop a video in VLC you will need to use the croppad filter. The filter settings can be adjusted inside VLC. To have this filter actually apply when converting the video you will need to manually select it.

When you are saving your new video you can create a profile specified for cropping videos. This way you can quickly apply the crop to more videos in the future.
